ベースラインと主旋律の対比
個人的にベースラインがメロディアスな曲が結構好きで、そんな曲にしたいなーと思いながら書いてました。だから最初にベースラインをつくってドラムパターン決めてコード入れて、みたいな感じでシンプルにすぱっとできました。
あとSakuraのヴォーカルめちゃめちゃいいですよね。個人的に大好きな声質です。加えて彼女はリズム感がいいのでこういったオリジナルの曲を投げてもナチュラルに歌にアクセントをつけてくれました。
そんなこんなでキャッチー&リズミカルな主旋律(中～高音域)とベースライン(低域)のコントラストを生みたいと思いながらレコーディングやらミックスやらやってました。というか編集してると何百何千回と曲を聴くのでもう客観的に聴けなくなってくるというか、発狂寸前みたいな感じになるんですよね、なのでみんなからの感想がほんとにありがたいんです、、もちろんここ聴きづらかったとかマイナスのでも構わないんでどしどし直接でもTwitter上でも伝えておくんなまし。
マイケルオマージュ？
Speechlessをある作曲家の方に聴いていただいた際に、マイケルのオマージュ曲？と訊かれたんです。ベースの音色やサウンドが'80年代ぽかった＋マイケルの曲にSpeechlessというタイトルのものがあることから。
僕は無知なものでこの曲を知らなかったんですが、聴いてみると確かにーと思いました。そして驚いたのが歌詞にも似た部分があったっていうこと。僕の曲には"I'm with you, Don't know why now I feel so lonely"という歌詞がブリッジにありますが、マイケルのSpeechlessにも
"Though I'm with you I am far away"
という歌詞があってうわ～～となりました。とさ。というかこの曲を聴いていただいた方、実は某アーティストの最新シングルに楽曲提供されてましてオリコン1位獲得なさってます。。こういった縁に感謝しながら今後も精進してまいりたいものです。
